Marcus, a warlord and Xena's former lover, has fallen in with arms dealers. When Xena convinces him to abandon his life of crime, he pays the highest price for his change of heart. Xena convinces Hades to let Marcus free from Tartarus long enough to help her overcome Atyminius, then pleads with the God of the Underworld to allow her beloved to enter Elysium for his help.
